Hustle hustle hustle. I just wrapped on a reality show this week, next month I'll be working on a feature in teh Art department. I know its not nessavery, but I think as a director atleast knowing the language of every department is importnat. Which is the ultimate goal for me. I do have a kind of off topic question for you though if you see this: Do you have any recomendaitons on practicing puling focus. I really struggle with it. I have to rely heavily on my autofocus but I want to be better shooting manually.

The camera body really doesn’t matter that much nowadays. It’s never been the most important thing. You can get a fantastic looking image out of a Canon 70D if you strap a $20000 anamorphic lens to it. Won’t be movie theater quality, but the image will still look good. Add to that a world class colorist who knows how to work with lower bitrate/DR footage, and you could shoot your film on almost anything. The Creator might’ve used a cheap body, but we shouldn’t kid ourselves into thinking they were using a low budget setup.

Were literally working with the amazon/ebay/walmart budget and are using 2 A7S2's from ebay. I was a little nervous as I had never bought a used body but it was definitely a great starting point.

my first gig being a photojournalist happened because I showed up to a library board meeting to document and ask people why they thought pornography was in the children's section of public libraries. Turns out, there isn't and that a huge network of organizations are fabricating this story across the US. A Journalist saw me there and introduced me to her editor and I've been slowly improving since then.. eventually I'll finish pre-production for my first actual story with the skills I'm learning from helping friends and other artists get their work out there.
